As you may or may not know, this year, Japan is participating in the #GivingTuesday movement. Giving Tuesday Japan was kick-started in 2023 by Tsunoda Stylings, an online international web agency.


As you can probably guess, Giving Tuesday is all about GIVING - so much so that it is the world’s largest generosity movement. Giving Tuesday has active movements in more than 100 countries, working year-round to inspire generosity worldwide, with a common mission to create a world where giving is part of everyday life.


In line with the idea of giving daily, today we are sharing 10 MORE charity organizations within Japan that you can be a part of to make a difference.

REI provides a hand-up to refugees for long-term recovery by supporting grassroots projects in forgotten communities around the world, ensuring the refugees own and build their future. REI’s approach to refugee support starts with the knowledge that refugees are their best advocates, know best what their communities need and can do. They have the knowledge and skills to rebuild their own lives. All they need is a little hand-up.






NPO Seibo is a nonprofit organisation based in Japan with a mission to provide a hot school meal to every hungry child in the world. Since its founding in 2015, Seibo has focused on school feeding programmes in partnership with local communities in Malawi, one of the world's poorest countries.






To inspire a culture of giving by using all proceeds generated to provide school meals for hungry children around the world, starting with Malawi, through our partner Seibo Japan, and through partnerships with like-minded Not-For Profit Organisations.







Japan's first water refill app helps you to access free refill points so that you can refill your bottle on the go, discover new places & eliminate the need for unnecessary plastic waste. mymizu is an innovative mobile app and crowdsourced platform designed to combat single-use plastic waste by connecting users with over 200,000 free water refill stations globally. The platform features public water fountains and a network of partner cafes, shops, and hotels where you can refill your reusable bottle for free.






Peace Boat Disaster Relief (PBV) is a Japan-based NGO working to assist people in disaster-affected communities and strengthen the capacity of local communities to response to disasters both in Japan and around the world.





Heartfull Family (General Incorporated Association) is a prominent non-profit organization in Japan dedicated to supporting single-parent families. Led by Mayumi Nishida, it provides single mothers and fathers with vital self-reliance services, employment programs, and essential care distributions like food and clothing.






The Setouchi Olive Foundation is a Japanese nonprofit established in 2000 by renowned architect Tadao Ando and attorney Kohei Nakabo. Formed in response to Japan's largest illegal industrial waste dumping scandal on Teshima Island, its mission is to protect and restore the natural environment of the Seto Inland Sea.







Specified nonprofit corporation Run for the Cure Foundation (RFTC Japan) is a registered NPO with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government since 2004. Their mission is to eradicate breast cancer in Japan as a life-threatening disease through education, timely screening, and treatment







The Food for Happiness program by byFood is a charitable initiative that bridges authentic culinary travel in Japan with global social responsibility. When you book a Japanese food tour, cooking class, or restaurant reservation through the byFood platform, the company donates 10 school meals to children in developing countries.






River Cleanup is a global network organization on a mission to clean rivers by empowering people, preventing pollution, and accelerating change.

The Surfrider Foundation Japan (SFJ) is an environmental NGO dedicated to the protection of Japan's coastlines, beaches, and marine life. Established in 1993, the Japanese branch operates alongside the global Surfrider network to organize beach cleanups, conduct water quality monitoring, and advocate for sustainable coastal environments.
