Happy #GivingTuesdayJP 2025!
Today marks the third annual celebration of Giving Tuesday in Japan! As our second full year with the Giving Tuesday Global team comes to a close, we have learned (and done) a lot and have a lot to look forward to in 2026!
Our efforts last year to spread awareness across Japan and to Japanese people abroad paid off in many unexpected ways. But we are proud to announce yet another remarkable year-end recap to share with you all.
Countless organizations, schools, government offices, and ordinary people across the land have joined together to spread kindness in their everyday lives. So naturally, our goal for the third year has been to build on the connections we have made and expand upon them to share the many stories of those willing to join the cause and participate in the Global Day of Giving.
Thanks to the sponsorship funding from the United States-Japan Foundation and Tsunoda Stylings, we were able to expand our team and participate in more events, volunteer opportunities, and networking opportunities.
Here are a few of the successes we have experienced through the year, including, but not limited to:
* Expanding the Giving Tuesday Japan website and social media pages (including launching our YouTube channel!) in both English and Japanese. Check it out after you finish reading!
* Gaining 1,951 followers across all our social media accounts! Follow us! @givingtuesdayjapan (Look out for our LINE sticker campaign to come in 2026!)
* Partnering with various organizations and businesses that have helped tell others in their circle about the cause, which you can find some of our repeat volunteers here: Partners Did you know that we gained 32 new partners this year and one potential new sponsor? AMAZING!
Check out our collaboration video with popular JVlogger Riki with Japan Mates!
* Also collaborating with various university student recruitment services to secure interns and possibly future volunteers to help with our upcoming goals!
* We have posted our annual reports! Please take a look at all of our successes and plans for next year here: Annual Report
* Promoting our Giving Tuesday Japan Spark Farming Campaign Awareness 2026 starts here: Spark
* Helping to inform locals of various events, fundraisers, and parties across the country: Events
* And a total of 8 #MyGivingStory highlights, as well as giving in-depth information on various Japanese holidays/cultural events, social happenings, and news via our blog here: Blog
It has been a busy year making sure people know we are here and legitimate (and here to stay), but above all, it has been extremely rewarding, and we can't wait to see what the future brings.
Future Goals?

So, what are our goals for 2026 and beyond? Launching a nationwide campaign every year in every prefecture in Japan is still our top priority and will be for the years to come. If you check our About page, you will see we have checked off 9 of our progress checkpoints, and we already have TWO more in the works for early 2026! Be sure to check back to see which ones we mark off next!
As you know, each prefecture in Japan has its own unique culture, flavor, and community. We want to tap into what makes this country unique by having the natives show it through their versions of giving.
Another one of our goals is to get each prefecture involved in creating a prefecture logo. So far, we have 22 out of 47 logos created! More are in the works to be posted in early 2026!
Lastly, we hope to get volunteers in and outside of Japan, as many Japanese natives and organizations have already reached out to us from beyond our island borders! More information on this will come soon, so be sure to follow our blog and social media accounts!
Conclusion
As we reflect on the last year, we remind ourselves that we have only just begun, and the best is yet to come.
A reminder to our readers: We can all play a part in the world that we want to create.
What if we told you that you are changing the world right now? Would you believe it?
